Construction Control Inspector

US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience GS-08:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
(1) Managing or monitoring civil or military construction projects; (2) Observing work and work methods to ensure that construction practices are being performed in accordance with safety requirements; and (3) Producing daily construction progress reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). Specialized Experience GS-09:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
(1) reviewing contractor's proposed work and plans; (2) recommending changes in contract requirements with at-the-site conditions; and (3) ensuring strict adherence to safety provisions of the contract. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08). Specialized Experience GS-10:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
(1) managing large, complex civil or military construction projects; (2) reviewing contractor quality assurance plans and reports for completeness and accuracy; and (3) observing all phases of construction to ensure compliance with contract schedules, specifications and shop drawings. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). Specialized Experience GS-11:
One year of specialized experience which includes:
(1) Interpreting plans and specifications to ensure that contractor's work is performed in accordance with accepted construction practices and good workmanship; (2) communicating with contractor representatives for mutual understanding and agreement; (3) ensuring strict adherence to all applicable safety provisions to the contract; and (4) Managing construction project at all stages to resolve problems encountered during field visits. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
