We currently have an opportunity for a full-time Assistant Hospital Administrator at Nassau University Medical Center, in East Meadow, LI, NY.
In this vital role, you will:
Supervise nonmedical functions in the Nassau Health Care Corporation.
Participate in the preparation of budgets for the control of expenditures.
Supervise/participate in the preparation of periodic reports on operations.
Confer with section heads to interpret policy and assist in implementing various procedures.
Evaluate existing procedures and recommends improvements.
Approve requests for repairs, alterations, and new equipment.
Undertake and/or supervise research projects, including the development of surveys, interviewing, collection, compilation and analysis of data for planning and/or market research for health-related services and programs, and for medical education and medical research.
Assist in ensuring regulatory requirements are met.
Review up-to-date healthcare literature and current and pending legislation Assist in developing and implementing strategic plans for a department or departments in the Nassau Health Care Corporation, as required.
Assist in developing and implementing the Nassau Health Care Corporation's capital equipment plan, and the coordination of studies regarding the operational impact and installation of such equipment, as required.
We require:
Master's degree in Hospital Administration, Health Services Administration, Health Care Administration, Nursing Administration, Health Records Administration, Public Health Administration, Community Health Administration, or closely related field, from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university and Two years of experience developing, interpreting, evaluating, or coordinating plans, policies, procedures, systems, finances, or operations, in a health care environment, including, but not limited to, acute care of extended care facilities, health maintenance organizations, or health care reimbursement organizations, including one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity, supervising subordinate administrative, clerical, maintenance, or technical personnel; OR Master's degree from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university and Three years of satisfactory experience as outlined in (1) above, including one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity, as described above; OR Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university and Four years of satisfactory experience as outlined in (1) above, including one year in an administrative or supervisory capacity, as described above.
Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of hospital management, administration analysis & health care planning function Ability to supervise subordinate personnel.
